At Cambium Studios, we partnered with team at the La Trobe Rural Health School to design a suite of research assets for the Integrated Health Systems for Children in Kinship Care project. This 10-year initiative in Victoria, Australia required a strategy-led approach to translate complex systemic data into clear, impactful communication tools: a 40-page research report, a 2-page handout flyer, and a research poster for the ISPCAN 2025 international conference.

Our design direction prioritised clarity and authority to reflect the high-stakes nature of child protection. By utilising a strong, cohesive colour palette, functional iconography, and sourced photography, we created a professional narrative that emphasises the importance of the findings. The project was recently honoured as a joint winner of the 2024 Robin Clark Making a Difference Award at the Victorian Protecting Children Awards. We are proud to have provided the visual framework to help elevate this important local research to a global stage.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Julia [founder of Cambium Studios] on graphic design for several research projects, and I highly recommend her services. From the very beginning, communication was clear, and responsive. Julia provided regular updates throughout the process and shared design previews at key stages, which ensured we were aligned and able to refine details collaboratively.

Her work is not only beautifully designed but also thoughtfully tailored to purpose. She has a strong ability to create materials that meet rigorous academic standards while also being engaging and accessible for community-facing audiences. This balance is not easy to achieve, and Julia does it really well. Importantly, she consistently delivers high-quality work on time. Her reliability, creativity, and professionalism make her an outstanding collaborator for research, academic, and community projects alike. I would not hesitate to recommend her to others.”
